I love it when a client comes in and says I'm up for anything LOL I have tons of maternity gowns and props and I always get excited to style a session! Kayla, like most moms, said she didn't know what to wear for her pictures and I told her I had her covered!
I got the privelage of meeting the 15 kiddos at the Zoodles Preschool. You can only imagine how much personality they have!!! Some of them I photographed last year and it's amazing to see how much they've grown!!
My favorite kids are those with spunk, Zuri definitely has spunk!! So much personality is such a tiny human!! We had fun playing at her session. Her gallery is full of her unique expressions, including sticking her tongue out at me. That's my favorite kind, smiling at the camera is great, but HIGHLY overrated in my opinion!! We even took her to the local park where she was freezing, yet still happy to be there!
Prior to our session I'd never met Haley or Derrick but after I felt like we'd known each other for awhile!! They were the sweetest couple! You can tell their baby girl will be well taken care of just by the way their eyes light up when talking about her! I can't wait to meet baby _______!!
I love my clients, I love it when they love me even more!!! That's not always the case with small children since I'm the evil lady with the camera chasing them around! Fortunately, Alaina loves me, she told me so the second she walked in the door and gave me a big hug!!! I don't think I've ever been so flattered LOL She was an absolute doll for her session. I love her big belly laughs! Even if they were at my goofy expense. The good news is I get to photograph her and her family over the next couple of years! It will be so much fun watching her, and the Lowanse family, grow!!
I needed a wonderful family to model for my mothers day mini sessions. Carri is a work friend with gorgeous kiddos so I knew she'd be game! It may have been a little cool outside, notice the red noses and Cullen looks like he's freezing, but it was well worth these gorgeous shots we got. The above image is probably my fav because it shows them just as they are, silly. My favorite thing about photographing kids is that they could care less that there's a camera in front of them. They are just themselves, it's all they know how to be.
4 Kiddos with so much personality, each a little different! These guys were sweet hearts! With 4 kids it can be hard to get good group shots, but they rocked it!
I just love all his spunk!
Little Audrey had just turned 1 so of course we had to get some pics of her looking so cute in her Birthday outfit!!
This sweet little girl goes to the same sitter as mine. She's the most polite and well mannered 2 year old you'll ever meet! I do believe she was the first child of this age that I've ever been able to pose! She's definitely a giggle box and I just love all of her expressions. I can only hope her sweetness rubs off on my little, not so sweet, one!
When you're as big as a 2 year old, one must use their fingers to show your age!
I can already hear all the mothers, "I don't want a picture of me, just the children." How often do we say this? I get it, completely. As a mother of an 18 month old it's easy to say on any given day my roots are half way down my head, there's snot on my shirt, and no amount of coverup is going to hide these giant black circles under my eyes. I'm pretty sure I didn't even attempt to put on make up for the last 2 years. It just wasn't worth the extra effort or fighting my little one not to be held. The truth of the matter is when your kiddos grow up they aren't going to care about how you looked. They most likely won't even notice it and if they do they'll know it's because they were hard on mom and she didn't have time for herself! Something they will love you for. Kids are selfish. Period. Don't be selfish yourself by denying your children pictures with them. I hear people say all the time they wish they had more pictures with their mom/dad, never have I heard someone say "gee mom needed her make up done". The purpose of these minis are to capture you and your little ones at your purest. No overly posed, everyone smile at the camera sort of thing. Number one, kids don't respond well to sitting still and doing as their told. Number two, how many boring photos do you want of everyone looking at the camera with a fake smile? I like to capture families just as they are, playing, cuddling and sometimes even the stereotypical mom glares, getting your hair out of your face or the occasional let me wipe your nose. I like these shots best because they're real.
